Biofeedback for Pets
Calm support for the animals who calm you.
Pets feel stress too. Loud storms, new places, vet visits and changes at home can leave dogs, cats and other companions anxious. Debra Nelson, MA, LMFT, provides gentle, relaxation-focused biofeedback sessions for pets at our Forest Lake office as a complement to care from your veterinarian.
Know the Signs
Every animal is different, but these are common stress signals to watch for.
Trouble settling down, circling or following you from room to room.
Especially during storms, fireworks, car rides or vet visits.
Retreating under furniture or avoiding people and other pets.
More vocal than usual, especially when left alone.
Licking paws or grooming until fur thins.
Destructive behavior or bathroom accidents in a house-trained pet.

Pet biofeedback is a relaxation-focused wellness session. It is not veterinary care, a diagnosis or a substitute for your vet. If your pet has a sudden change in behavior, appetite, energy or comfort, contact your veterinarian first. Pain and illness often look like anxiety.
